1761 map of the Windward Islands, Martinique, St. Lucia, Barbados, St. Vincent, Grenadines and Grenada

From St. Lucia to Grenada, the Windward Islands offer a different type of sailing as compared to the Virgins. With some open ocean between Islands you can get the feel of the sea. While most charters are for seven days we recommend you spend at least ten in the Windwards.

St. Lucia, while only 24 miles north of St. Vincent, offers beautiful vistas and lush vegetation. Starting our trip in Soufriere we head south to make our evening anchorage off Chateaubetair Island. This is an absolutely perfect place for snorkeling. With many lovely spots, St. Vincent is worth at least a couple of days exploring.

Moving further south we can head to Bequia, a former whaling settlement, where we can anchor in Admiralty Bay and spend a day exploring the lovely village and island. From this point we can easily explore the islands of Mustique, Mayreau, and the beautiful Tobago Cays, a virtual snorkeling paradise.

The Grenadines are by far the most lovely of all of the Caribbean Islands and remain unspoiled to this day.
